Knowing the principles and rules for designing a logo
A logo needs to portray the essence of your company. It should be simple and yet so effective. One reason your logo should be simple is that people process an image in their mind more readily than words alone. So it should be designed in such a way that it should be easily describable, memorable, and should be scalable. One more aspect you should remember is it should be effective even without colours because you use these logos on your letter heads for faxing.
The actual design process:
- Gather your client details as mush as possible, ask for his preferences if any.
- Do some research and brainstorming be open to the nature you may find lots of wonderful ideas.
- Try to sketch out what ever comes in the mind.
- Ones you finalize your best designs create a prototype with the designing softwares available in the market, some of them are : Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, Paintshop Pro, Quark express etc. Try to use the softwares which you are comfortable with.
- Send the prototype to the client for his review.
- Revise and add the finishing touches.
